ARC Aviation has been working closely with RealSimGear and CASA to certify the first RealSimGear Synthetic Training Device in Australia. The system replicates a G6 Cirrus SR22 flight deck running X-Plane 11 along with TorqueSim software and is capable of Cirrus CAPS simulation which is very helpful when training pilots on CAPS decision making.
The simulator is extremely useful in Instrument training allowing for a myriad of instrument procedures including RNP, ILS, VOR, LOC and GNSS approaches along with holding patterns and en-route navigation. 50% of your instrument training can be logged in the simulator which helps reduce cost but more importantly allows time for you and your instructor to repeat procedures easily and induce real world weather conditions.
ARC Aviation has CASA approval for RPL, PPL, CPL, NVFR, IFR and PIFR (Private IFR) training and has recently begun theory classes for PIFR in preparation for the CASA PIFR Theory Exam which can be hosted in-house at ARC Aviation.
Personally I believe that IFR is the best flight rating a private pilot can have as it allows you to depart and arrive safely at destinations, in weather that would have stopped a VFR rated pilot and, most of us know what Moorabbin is like in winter.
Contact our instructors at ARC Aviation to discuss training to achieve your pilots licence, an IFR rating, a Cirrus refresher course, transition training, flight review or preparation for your next proficiency check.
